I am back in eastern Oregon for three weeks on a fire assignment. I will be working on the refuge that I grew up on. We do things a bit differently in eastern Oregon. Look for more photos and stories to follow, also check out the photo gallery from this trip.
I took a small group of friends out in the swamp yesterday to view some of the Ghost orchids that are in bloom right now. I am sure you are in Ghost Orchid image overload so I won't post many of the orchids.

Took the first trip out in the wet swamp this year looking for Ghost Orchids...
Success is hard to measure, but we had fun and found 4 flowers. I got a bit lost, but not too bad, also ran into two Cottonmouths, could have done without them. We were in about knee deep water, and navigating was a bit awkward from time to time with all the hidden logs and holes underwater, thankfully no one took a spill.

So far today we have had almost three inches of rain. This makes it noisy as hell outside, every damn frog is looking for a mate today. I managed to capture one of the culprits in the act.
Day 5 in the Pacific Northwest, and we are now on the Oregon coast, I love this place. I will take some time when I get home to give more detail to some of the photos I have posted. Here's some from Sunday's trip.
