The Nature Conservancy Magazine - Fire School Spread
The Nature Conservancy Magazine asked for my contribution a couple months ago to a story they were doing on the Prescribed Fire Training Center (Tallahassee, FL). The article has now been completed and I would like to share it with you. I will be receiving some copies of the magazine to share with family and a few friends but the online version is pretty nice as well.
So check it out if you like.

Southern end of Harney County
I thought I better share some of the southern end of the area where I grew up in Eastern Oregon. I will post a few photos here, but make sure you check out the gallery for the rest.

Harney County, OR
Lot's of things to see here, and with us leaving soon we better check them out now. We took a tour of Diamond and Crane along the way we stopped at the Round Barn, and stopped at Bill Thew's shop.
Riddle Mt. in the background.
Teacher and student still.
Some of Bill's checkered flags.
More photos added to the gallery.

Air show
Sometimes you can get people in the way of the fire, so you have to call in air tankers.

Watching the rim
Friday night we got to witness some impressive fire activity. We were camped above this rim on a rock scab flat when the fire down below decided to make a run up slope after the winds died down. Here are a few photos;
The noise and the heat are indescribable
